The National Mammography Database (NMD) leverages data that radiology practices are already collecting under federal mandate to provide them with comparative information for national and regional benchmarking. Participants access feedback reports that include valuable benchmarking data such as true positive rates, positive predictive value rates and recall rates.

The NMD participation fee is waived for facilities that have been designated as Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence by the ACR, for the first cycle.

NMD participation is certified as a Practice Quality Improvement (PQI) projects toward American Board of Radiology Part IV Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credit.
